Men's Restroom Mural

Edge Designs is an all-women run company...
that designs interior office space.

They had a recent opportunity to do an office project in NYC.

The client allowed the women of this
Company a free hand in all design aspects.
The client was a company that was also
run by all women execs....... ......

The result...... ...well.. ...We all know that
men never talk, never look at each other....
and never laugh much in the restroom....
The men's room is a serious and quiet place...
But now...with the addition of one mural
on the wall......
Let’s just say the men's restroom is a place of laughter and smiles!!!

Having Fun With Photoshop

Besides my photo pop art experiment, here are more of my designs that I made using Adobe Photoshop CS3. Well, I'm not yet an expert but I'm slowly learning new techniques. Practice makes perfect. :)

Pop Art (My Experiment)

I was inspired by Dee when she posted a blog about her "pop art" experiment using Photoshop. I decided to try it out also and here's the result:

"My sister, Nerisse; my niece, Lara; and my youngest sister, Cheenee"

Whew! This is my third try, actually. I'll just keep on practicing. :)

*You may find lots of Pop Art Tutorials on YouTube. Try them, it's fun! :D

Is Computer Feminine or Masculine?

A SPANISH Teacher was explaining to her class that, in
Spanish, unlike English, nouns are designated as either
masculine or feminine.

'House' for instance, is feminine: 'la casa.'
'Pencil,' however, is masculine: 'el lapiz.'

So, a student asked, 'What gender is 'computer'?'

Instead of giving the answer, the teacher split the
class into two groups, male and female, and asked them to decide for
themselves whether 'computer' should be a masculine or a
feminine noun.
Each group was asked to give four reasons for its
recommendation.

The men's group decided that 'computer' should
definitely be of the feminine gender ('la Computadora'), because:

1. No one but their creator understands their internal
logic;

2. The native language they use to communicate with
other computers is incomprehensible to everyone else;

3. Even the smallest mistakes are stored in long term
memory for possible later retrieval; and

4. As soon as you make a commitment to one, you find
yourself spending half your paycheck on accessories for it.

(THIS GETS BETTER!)

The women's group, however, concluded that computers
should be Masculine
('el computador'), because:

1. In order to do anything with them, you have to turn
them on.

2. They have a lot of data but still can't think for
themselves.

3. They are supposed to help you solve problems, but
half the time THEY are the problem; and

4. As soon as you commit to one, you realize that if you
had waited a little longer, you could have gotten a better
model.

The women won.

Never Be Late!

I got this funny e-mail today from one of my choir mates. :)

"A priest was being honored at his retirement dinner after 25 years in the parish. A leading local politician and member of the congregation was chosen to make the presentation and give a little speech at the dinner. He was late so the priest decided to say his own few words while they waited.

"I got my first impression of the parish from the first confession I heard here. I thought I had been assigned to a terrible place. The very first person who entered my confessional told me he had stolen a television set and, when stopped by the police, had almost murdered the officer. He had stolen money from his parents, embezzled from his place of business, had an affair with his boss's wife, taken illegal drugs and transmitted VD to his sister. I was appalled. But as the days went on I knew that my parishioners were not all like that and I had, indeed, come to a fine parish full of good and loving people."

Just as the priest finished his talk, the politician arrived full of apologies at being late. He immediately began his presentation and give his talk. "I'll never forget the first day our parish priest arrived," said the politician. "In fact, I had the honor of being the FIRST ONE to go to him in confession."

I'm sure you know now the moral of the story. :D

"Trip Advisory" Spoof

Our very funny choir mate made a spoof of a trip advisory. I made the video blurry to protect the identity of our member. Let's just call him "The Master Showman" or "Ace Ventura"

This is just for fun! No offense meant. :)

My New Favorite Cartoon Character

I rarely enjoy watching cartoons on TV these past few years. I even hate hearing my students uttering annoying remarks which they learn from watching them. However, I have found a new cartoon character that caught my attention. He's POCOYO! My youngest sister watches him every morning (9:00 AM Manila Time, Disney Playhouse Channel) and I find him really cute! Not only that, he's got friends that are fun to watch also. The show is a good influence to kids for it teaches values fit for children. Below is the famous POCOYO dance which he does everytime. I hope you'll be able to watch this show, too. :)

The ONLY Fun Segment in American Idol Season 7 Finale Results Night

Since Carly Smithson was voted off from this year's AI, I lost interest in watching the show. I was rooting for Carly and David (Cook) and was expecting them to be in the finals. Well, things didn't turn out as I was hoping for and only David (Cook) reached the finale. For me, this season was the most boring one ever. :(

Nevertheless, I still found myself watching today's finale results just for the sake of watching it. Not to mention that I was already expecting David Cook to win. Who else? Duh? Honestly, it was such a bore until one segment saved it all... Gladys Night with Ben Stiller, Jack Black, and Robert Downey,Jr.!!! It was the ONLY time that I had fun during the 2-hour looooooooooong show. I was really laughing out loud while watching them, most especially the part when Robert Downey, Jr. suddenly disappeared! :D

I rushed to my computer to search for the video on YouTube and I guess I'm lucky to have found it! Here it is:

Let's Have Fun!

Since my students (in Brent International School), will be on vacation again, I thought of creating a site that they will enjoy during their school break. I hope that they will like this because I have loaded it with really fun stuff, mostly games! May this be a great way for them to forget a little about English lessons. Hehe!

To: Ina and Yu-Yang
Have fun on your vacation but please review your notes once in a while. Hope to see you again, soon. Take care. :)

To: Joyce and Jasmine
I'll miss you terribly! Hope you can still get in touch with me since you'll be transferring to Cambodia already. Take care. :)

To: Annie and Angel
I hope that in one way or another you'll be able to see this even though you're in Taiwan already. Be good girls, okay? Miss you, too. Take care. :)

ENJOY!!! :) :) :)
